Emhar World War One German Artillery - 1:72 Scale

Plastic model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue and paint NOT included.

My first purchase by this manufacturer and I wanted to get a variety of poses not available with other kits.

The kit is made in China and the 'Sta-Put' plastic is "poseable" which is extremely useful for repositioning any rifles or swords that require realignment - something because of the size is quite common and that isn't quite as easy to do with Airfix as they tend to bend back again. Box instructions recommend washing figures with detergent and drying before painting.

The box contains:

Four identical sprues of 6 soldiers; one machine gunner, two riflemen (one with scope), two artillery loaders and an officer with raised sword. Six different poses - 24 soldiers - a few different poses would have been a plus. There is a tiny thin length of plastic under each machine gunner which I am assuming is for the machine gun tripod - no specific illustration to show. There is an expected amount of flash and parting lines are evident on these soldiers - perhaps slightly more than on similar sized Arifix or HäT figures. I don't think the level of detail is as high as either Airfix or HäT - perhaps painting would improve this but have yet to try.

Two sprues with an 8 piece 96 n/A 76 mm artillery gun on each. I have assembled one using Super Glue (rather than poly glue) and it gives a very impressive model and clean of flash (at this size I think that is a huge plus point).

Not being familiar with the uniforms of the time it would have been useful for some colour guide - on the back of the box are paintings of two of the soldiers but no mention of colour - a minor point perhaps and one over come by a little research but it would have been a 'nice to have.'

Overall okay - artillery gun excellent. Would I recommend - yes.
